Just Another Day

"Any idiot can handle a crisis, it's day to day living that wears you out." - Chekhov

Lack of posting lately due to a distinct lack of inspiration about much of anything.

In using the language of helping the poor and addressing inequality, Bush, or rather Rove, is trying to set us all up, as usual. By not necessarily looking for pain somewhere else in the budget and not considering any tax-cut repeals or tax rises, they are attempting to “prove” that government spending is not the answer to addressing inequalities in our society. The right has been saying it for a long time and now they have a laboratory in which to show that they have been right all these years. By putting the foxes in charge of the henhouse and by pushing the budget deficit to danger levels, they will use this as a cudgel in their attempt to destroy social spending by saying, “See?! We have been telling you all along that it doesn’t work and now, even with the GOP in charge*, you can see that the federal government simply cannot be effective in attempting the social prerogatives of the left.”

* Your mileage may vary.

Forgot to note that I cross-posted this at Daily Kos under a fake name. Damned protocol.
