Dead Men Tell No Tales

If they aren't already planning his death somehow, I bet Dick/Weed are on their knees praying the most heartfelt prayer they have ever committed that Rove is charged with treason. Then, the law and order twits can probably streamline the sentence so he is quite summarily shot. He knows too much about them and has a way of getting back at people since he has been pissed off at the world for so long, i.e., ever since he got beat up by a little girl (he admits it and then he's stupid enough to justify it with "she was bigger than me").

Of course, another option is to let him enjoy
Gitmo Gourmet and, as a special torture since they seem to be good at it there, they can plaster the walls with Kennedy posters while restraining him from being able to do anything about it.

Time for a GOP lobotomy

And, yes, I am referring to Bush's Brain but, since it seems to me that they almost all use the one cranial resource to march in lockstep to whatever their overlords command, I do mean a GOP lobotomy.

See
here, here, here, and here...for starters. Or, just read the latter two and make Digby and RH regular stops on your daily political web stroll.

Polipundit Falls Off Its Rocker

Oh, it's been teetering for quite some time but...

The top two titles over there currently push old talking points supposedly refuting the opposition to W's big fucking mistake in Mesopotamia. News for you, folks over there, you're being fed more than a few lines. The amazing thing is that these people are either too thickheaded to understand the truth or are simply so disingenuous, as most conservative blogs are but PP used to not be, that they can't help but repeat the same tired lies the right wing has been spewing for years.

I think it may be fear, rather than hubris. The people are starting to finally see the truth about Bush's mishandling of the Iraq war and the war on terrorism and aren't buying the bullshit anymore. So, the right wing needs to push their lies harder and with greater repetition so they can at least hold on to the malignant hard cores among themselves. Thinking people are moving on, including a few of my conservative friends who no longer believe W, no longer believe in the war in Iraq, and no longer believe the lie that we're winning in the war on terrorism.

From Snopes:

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

-- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials

Joseph Goebbels: "If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."

Good Thing No One in this White House Gets Laid

Kant over at Daily Kos has an interesting post on the possible deep shit into which this White House has stepped. Fortunately, though, with the pliant media the GOP enjoys, the blood has yet to be smelt in the water and it will be portrayed as he said/she said. The right wing idiots will complain about the leftist press anyway, even though they have been wrong about this, and their leaders know it, from the beginning seeing it as a useful cover for their criminal intents, i.e., discount the messenger before the message is delivered so no one will pay attention, and make sure that the messenger knows they will be killed if the news is too bad so that anyone who still takes the press seriously will not read bad news. Back to the story, in short, it is a good thing no one takes their pants off at the White House because the right wingers would be all over it. Then again, their hypocrisy knows no bounds so probably not.
